High Barrier Packaging Film PMS
High Barrier Packaging Film PMS
DESCRIPTION:
*PMS is a coextruded Biaxial Oriented Polypropylene film with one side heat sealable layer and one side metalized surface.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
*High moisture barrier
*Good sealing strength
*Excellent UV light barrier
*Excellent dimensional stability
*Excellent metal adhesion and luster
APPLICATIONS:
PMS is widely used as an alternative to foil in packaging requirements. It is ideal for wrapping potato chips, cookies, tea, coffee and confectionary. PMS can be printed, laminated or used as a single structure bags. PMS is ideal for cold-seal or conventional heat-seal applications
Metalized Biaxial Oriented Polypropylene film with one side heat sealable layer and one side metalized surface has been in the attention now-a-days because the end users find them economical as well as environmentally viable alternative to other forms of packaging material used for wrapping potato chips, cookies, tea, coffee
and confectionary etc.
Earlier, exclusive PET (Polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate) based laminates were proved to have poor
"barrier properties and hence considered not suitable for packaging of products requiring higher barrier properties like wrapping potato chips, cookies, tea, coffee that’s need to have high barrier properties which can keep oxygen and water vapor out to preserve the freshness of the product inside.
Aluminum oxide barrier layers have been deposited onto treated metal receptive layer of BOPP film with one side heat sealable layer and one side metalized surface. Oxygen and water vapor transmission rates OTR≤ 100 & MVTR ≤ 0.8 were analyzed according to ASTM F 1249 & ASTM D 3985.
